Head Mechanic - Southampton

The Role:

Silcom Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Head Mechanic, equivalent to a Diagnostic Technician, for a reputable Vehicle Repair Business based in Southampton. If you're experienced with a wide range of makes and models, and have a strong diagnostic background, this could be the perfect role for you!

Responsibilities & Requirements of a Head Mechanic:

Performing advanced diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles, identifying complex mechanical or electrical issues, and executing high-quality repairs.

Leading and supervising a team of mechanics and technicians, providing guidance, training, and technical support to ensure efficient workflow.

Ensuring all work meets industry standards and manufacturer specifications, conducting quality checks on completed repairs, and ensuring safety protocols are adhered to.

Organising daily work schedules, assigning tasks based on team members' skills, and ensuring that deadlines are met without compromising quality.

Liaising with customers to explain diagnoses, recommended repairs, and timelines, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Monitoring stock levels of tools, equipment, and spare parts, and ensuring timely ordering to avoid delays in repairs.

Providing accurate repair cost estimates to customers, maintaining transparency, and ensuring correct invoicing.

Enforcing health and safety regulations, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and that the workshop is a safe environment for both staff and customers.

Monitoring the performance of the workshop, implementing process improvements, and reporting progress to management.

The Package:

Basic Salary of £50,000!!!!

Hours: Monday to Friday [8:30am – 5:30pm]!!

Saturdays [8:00am – 1:00pm] - 5.5 day working week!!
