Assistant Accountant - Exeter

The Role:

Silcom Recruitment is presenting a remarkable opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to become part of a well-established client of ours, based in Exeter.

The preferred Assistant Accountant will possess experience within the motor trade, although applicants from diverse backgrounds, especially those showcasing exceptional qualities, will be considered.

Responsibilities & Requirements of an Assistant Accountant:

Assist in the month-end process, production of management accounts and conducting balance sheet reconciliations.

Manage accruals, prepayments, and reconcile the fixed asset register.

Ensure reconciliation of vehicle stocks funding and verify reconciliation of vehicle bonuses.

Participate in the annual budgeting process, perform variance analysis, and report findings.

Submit monthly performance data to manufacturers, review, and organise accounts ledgers.

Provide support to accounts clerks within the team.

Approve supplier reconciliations and bought ledger reconciliation.

Review vehicle debtors, outstanding cash reports, and assist in year-end audit and tax preparation.

Demonstrate proficiency in IT, particularly Excel usage.

Highly desired: Experience with Kerridge system.

Salary:

Basic Salary of £30,000!

Hours: Monday to Friday [8:30am - 5:30pm] with 1 hour lunch break.

22 Days holiday extending every year after 4 years.
