Junior Lighting Designer - Outskirts of Chichester

The Role:

Silcom Recruitment is seeking an aspiring Lighting Designer to join an established client of ours, located around the outskirts of Chichester.

Our client is seeking a Junior Lighting Designer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

This is an ideal role for a graduate or early-career designer who is interested in lighting, architecture, or technical design but may not have direct experience in the lighting industry yet.

As a Junior Lighting Designer, you’ll join our clients in-house design team and be trained in the fundamentals of lighting design.

You’ll learn how to develop lighting layouts, use specialist software, and translate architectural spaces into well-lit, functional, and safe environments. If you enjoy working with CAD software, technical drawings, and visual design, this role offers a great pathway into a specialist design career.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

Design lighting proposals for a wide range of projects, from homes and workplaces to shops and commercial spaces.

Learn how to design lighting schemes that meet UK standards and best-practice guidelines.

Produce lighting calculations and 3D visualisations using specialist software.

Assist in selecting appropriate lighting products and technologies for each project.

Work closely with internal teams and occasionally support client discussions.

What We’re Looking For:

Our client is more interested in potential than experience. You might be a good fit if you have:

Have a degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field

Portfolio that shows an interest in design, spatial thinking, or technical drawing

Familiarity with AutoCAD and 3D modelling software

The Package:

£25,000 - £27,000 Starting basic.

Monday to Friday – 8:00-5:00
