





The Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Vehicle Body Builder to join a well-established and respected commercial vehicle body building business based near Melksham. This is a rare chance to join a growing team within a forward-thinking and values-led organisation. The role would suit an individual with a background in vehicle body assembly, fabrication, or coachbuilding, who takes pride in producing high-quality work and wants to be part of a supportive, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out body building and fabrication work on commercial vehicles to high standards
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering schematics
Performing MIG and/or TIG welding on fabricated parts as per company and customer specifications
Assembling insulated panels for commercial freezer bodies
Installing wiring for lights and vehicle fixtures (basic auto-electrical knowledge preferred)
Ensuring a safe and clean working environment in line with company health and safety policies
Handling deliveries and storing materials in designated areas
Working independently and using initiative to plan workloads and meet deadlines
Supporting wider depot operations and occasionally assisting with additional projects or duties as needed
About You:
Proven experience in vehicle bodybuilding, fabrication, or coachbuilding (1+ years preferred)
MIG and/or TIG welding experience (1+ years preferred)
Confident reading technical drawings and assembling to specification
Basic auto-electrical knowledge (wiring lights/fixtures) desirable
Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently
Own tools and transport preferred due to location
Strong understanding of workshop safety, standards, and procedures
Positive, respectful attitude with a team-oriented mindset
Package:
Up to £15.60 per hour, negotiable depending on experience and skillset.
Monday – Thursday – 7:00-5:00 | Friday – 7:00 – 2:30 + 1 hour lunch.
