Assistant Accountant - Banbury

The Role:

Silcom Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join an established client of ours, located in Banbury. Providing the opportunity to progress into a Regional Accountant role in the future.

This position would suit a current Assistant Accountant looking to develop their career, or a competent and experienced Accounts Assistant ready to take the next step. You will support the financial reporting and day-to-day accounting operations of the business, building the skills and experience needed to take on greater responsibility across multiple sites.

Responsibilities & Requirements of an Assistant Accountant:

Oversee the processing of data across the sales, purchase and nominal ledgers, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.

Maintain balance sheet control, completing regular reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.

Support the production of month-end management accounts, including journals, accruals and prepayments.

Prepare and submit dealership composites, ensuring accuracy and consistency with the management accounts.

Complete bank and other key account reconciliations, resolving outstanding items promptly.

Undertake working capital reviews, monitoring debtors, creditors and stock balances to identify areas requiring attention.

Package:

Basic Salary - £32,000.

Monday to Friday – 8:30am-5:00pm.
