Vehicle Recovery Driver - Exeter

The Role:

Silcom Recruitment are seeking motivated and professional Recovery Drivers (Class 1 HGV) to join a long-established, reputable organisation operating across Exeter & the surrounding area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced HGV drivers seeking a stable, customer-facing role within a company that values professionalism, safety, and high standards of service. You’ll represent a trusted roadside and recovery service, assisting customers in challenging situations with confidence, calmness, and care.

While previous vehicle recovery experience is advantageous, it is not essential — comprehensive training and ongoing development are provided for successful candidates.

Responsibilities & Essential Requirements:

Attend roadside incidents and recover vehicles safely and efficiently

Deliver exceptional customer service in a calm, professional, and reassuring manner

Operate recovery vehicles in line with company and legal safety standards

Work effectively across a rotating two-week shift pattern

Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the company’s reputation

Valid Class 1 HGV licence held for a minimum of 12 months - ESSENTIAL.

Current Driver CPC qualification

Maximum of 6 penalty points

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

The Package:

Salary: £43,160 per annum

Shift pattern: 5 x 12-hour shifts per week, alternating between: Week 1: 07:00 – 19:00 & Week 2: 13:00 – 01:00.

Meal Allowance: £10 per shift (tax-free)

Breaks: Fully paid — no deductions

Training: Full training provided + continued professional development
